Vizcaya Volunteer Guides
In 2004, the Vizcaya Volunteer Guides celebrated 50 years of service to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Since 1954 – just one year after Vizcaya first opened its doors as a public institution – the dedicated men and women who make up the Volunteer Guides have offered tours of the main house to the public every day of the year except for Christmas.

Today, there are about 150 active Vizcaya Volunteer Guides, who, as a whole, offer tours in ten different languages. Tours focus primarily on the history of the so-called American Renaissance and Miami’s place in this history, the role of internationalism in the United States and local culture, and the richness of the visual arts and landscape design.

For more information about the volunteer training program, call 305-860-8439 or email  VolunteerGuides@vizcayamuseum.org.
